Papaya is a healing fruit, very high in antioxidants and it has been proven to heal intestinal and cardiovascular disorders
Papaya contains papain which heals inflammation. This is fantastic as it has been proven that internal inflammations are one of the first causes (not symptoms which come much later) of illnesses. Preventing internal inflammation can help keep your system in peak condition and drinking this juice in the evening ensures that all the goodness from the papaya will stay in the body undisturbed, so that it can do what it is supposed to do, heal.
SERVES 1 (350ml)
1 green papaya, unripened, peeled and seeds removed
1 medium-sized cucumber, unpeeled
1 green apple, unpeeled
A handful of mint
1 tsp raw honey
1 tsp ground cinnamon
Always buy your papayas green and juice them before they have ripened. Don’t let them ripen, as most of the healing benefits are found in its green body.
Juice the papaya together with the cucumber and the apple and add the mint at the end.
Place all ingredients in a blender or juicer.
Finish off by adding the raw honey and cinnamon. Drink immediately or pour into an airtight container and keep in the fridge for up to 24 hours.
